Community Involvement

Working Together to Fight Cancer

It takes a community-wide effort to fight cancer and create a world where those touched by it can live more productive, more satisfying lives. Care providers, research institutions and companies like CTI, service organizations, advocacy groups, donors, and volunteers are all part of this community. But the real heroes are the patients themselves—especially those who participate in clinical trials—along with the families and friends who support them.

This community network is critical to the progress we have made toward making cancer more treatable. We know how important your life, your cancer, and your treatment is.

Building Community

Here are some of the ways that we are helping to strengthen the cancer-fighting community. We invite you—employees, friends, patients, and families—to join us in this effort.

Our Community Time Investment Benefit

Any regular, full-time employee of CTI may receive up to eight hours of paid time off per calendar year for pre-approved volunteer work. The goal of this program is to enhance our employees’ sense of social responsibility and community spirit. This is a great opportunity for employees to contribute to the quality of life where we live and work.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Light The Night is an annual Society fundraiser. It’s the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of patients and their families. CTI employees, friends, and family have participated in the Seattle walk each year since 2000 and we are proud to be a local sponsor.

Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research

By supporting the Marsha Rivkin Center we are helping foster creative collaborations in ovarian cancer research. Their annual Swedish SummeRun in downtown Seattle benefits the Center. CTI staff, friends, and family participate in the SummeRun each year.

Gilda’s Club

We have supported Gilda's Club at the national level and locally, working with Gilda's Club Seattle. We're fortunate to have this resource in our community—where men, women, and children living with cancer and their families and friends join with others to build emotional and social support as a supplement to medical care.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Once each quarter, our Seattle employees plan, prepare, and serve dinner for families staying at the Seattle Ronald McDonald House during their child's treatment for cancer or other serious illness. We've been doing this for years. It's just one of the ways we contribute to the community network fighting cancer. Get involved! Find a Ronald McDonald House near you.
